The game was a great time for everyone. October 6, 1999 Michael J Woznicki (Holland, MA USA) 28 out of 30 found this review helpful
Ready for Hearts to meet Spades and Whist? Well then you are ready to play Wizard Deluxe. US Games has a true game of skill and strategy. Wizard Deluxe requires the players to make sure they only bid what they can take and no more. The game is fairly fast paced and requires at least three players. I found that have four or more really makes the game enjoyable. It is skill and thought that makes you the winner in this game. Since there is very few pieces, cleanup an d storage are no real problem. US Games has included very simple and easy to follow instructions. The rules are bi-lingual, which is a really nice addition to the game. The age of play is from 10 to adult, but I found that this game might be a little advanced for some of the younger players. Wizard Deluxe is a great gift for any occasion and is very reasonably priced. So if you are looking for a great family game or a game for those weekend get together, go out an get Wizard Deluxe Card Game.
Card-playing family June 25, 2005 Working Mom 8 out of 8 found this review helpful
Our family loves this game. I agree that it isn't good for younger players (probably under 11 or 12) unless they play a lot of card games. It is similar to a game played with a standard deck (we call it "Oh, heck" but that isn't the original name!), but Wizards adds a number of fun twists that make the game more unpredictable. It definitely involves strategy and skill, but there is an aspect of luck as well, which makes it perfect for playing with groups with wide-ranging degrees of card playing skills. It is also one of the best games out there for three players, although I agree that it is even more fun with more players. Highly recommended for those who enjoy card games.
Addictive Fun! September 14, 2005 K. Baumberger (Atlanta, GA) 6 out of 7 found this review helpful
This game challenges you at multiple levels...strategy, contingency planning, bluffing, and...of course, execution. It is one of the few games where you can play to lose a trick only to win the hand. Great fun for kids 8 to 98.
loads of card playing fun January 31, 2009 Terry Knight (West Palm Beach FL) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
If you like to play cards, have 3-5 friends to play with, want something different with a couple new twists to keep it interesting, Wizard is for you. A variation on a game we call "Oh, Hell" that is played with a standard deck, Wizard takes it to a more exciting level. By the addition of "Wizard" and "Jester" cards the makers of this game have created a better version of a basic card game. The bidding wheels (shown outside the box in the picture) add another dimension if you want to change things up a bit. We play this game every holiday and many days in between. For $10-15 dollars, you can't go wrong.
Great for all ages! March 27, 2006 Allison Marfil (Thornton, Colorado) I got this game for Christmas, and love it! I am 18 and play it with my dad and grandparents. I like it, because I finally have a chance to beat my dad and grandpa, and my grandparents like it because it is more challenging and spontaneous than Bridge. It's small enough to play at home, on vacation and in airports during layovers! This game is highly reccomended!
