I bought this set for my soon to be 3 year old son. The box it came in looked a little worn, but still obviously new. However, the quality of the toy is great, and he will enjoy playing with this durable set for quite some time. I will buy additional Lincoln Log products in the future.

1 out of 5 stars Our 3 year didn't like it and neither did I   January 29, 2008

I had purchased this set for a 3 year old thinking it would be as much fun to play with as I remembered it. I was wrong. First of all, their is only one way to use the logs (which were plastic by the way) and that's to build the items shown on the box. The instructions were so badly illustrated that it took me awhile to put it together. It was not easy. The "logs" are slippery and would not stay where placed. Even when they did, any slight movement would cause them to come tumbling down.

In order to get the roofs on you have to put the circular ends of the logs into SQUARE holes located under the roof. Impossible for a 3 year old and nearly impossible for me!

The windows were no fun at all to place on the buildings. They required that you hold them and hope they didn't fall off before you could get the other logs in place.

Even the "logs" seemed cheap and poorly made to me.

I don't know who designed this set but it sure doesn't work for a 3 year old. Maybe an older child (say above 15 or so) would enjoy this but for me and mine, this was one of the worst building sets I have seen in ages.

This is not the set you played with. If this is the best Lincoln Logs can do, they need to bring back the classic set!

I do not recommend this product!
